The CPTED review was conducted in accordance with established CPTED principles and relevant planning guidelines, with a focus on evaluating how the proposed design would influence natural surveillance, territorial reinforcement, access control, and environmental management across the site.

Connley Walker Pty Ltd conducted a thorough review of the proposed site plans and layout for the facility, assessing design elements such as building orientation, vehicle and pedestrian access points, fencing, landscaping, and lighting provisions. The assessment considered both day-to-day operational needs and after-hours site security, including how visibility and site activation would be supported for both volunteers and members of the public.

Stakeholder consultations were held with council representatives, project planners, and emergency services stakeholders to understand operational requirements, site functionality, and usage patterns. These discussions informed the CPTED review and ensured that the recommendations were aligned with the intended operational and community safety objectives of the facility.

The review also considered broader contextual factors, including the surrounding land use, proximity to residential areas, visibility from public roads, and future maintenance responsibilities that could affect the long-term effectiveness of security-related design features.

Upon completion of the engagement, Connley Walker Pty Ltd provided a formal report detailing the CPTED review findings and offering practical, design-integrated recommendations to enhance safety, reduce opportunities for unauthorised access, and support the secure and functional operation of the new bushfire brigade facility.
