Connley Walker Pty Ltd was engaged to conduct a security risk assessment for the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Helensburgh, New South Wales. The purpose of this engagement was to assist the client with their grant application for security infrastructure upgrades. As part of the assessment, Connley Walker Pty Ltd carried out a detailed site inspection and consulted with relevant stakeholders to understand the operational environment and security requirements of the facility.
The assessment included a methodical application of security risk management principles, aligned with the framework set out in AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018. The risk assessment process was designed to identify the security requirements necessary to support the client’s strategic and operational objectives, particularly in the context of future funding allocations.
A Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) review was also incorporated into the scope of work. This component examined how the site’s physical and environmental features influenced natural surveillance, access control, and site activation. The CPTED review was conducted in conjunction with the physical inspection and helped ensure that the security recommendations were integrated with the overall site layout and usage patterns.
Connley Walker Pty Ltd’s engagement was focused on developing practical, cost-sensitive security recommendations that aligned with the client’s operational needs and compliance obligations. The security risk assessment was prepared in a format suitable for inclusion in funding submissions and to inform future security planning decisions.
