Connley Walker Pty Ltd was engaged by Anderson & Associates to undertake a comprehensive security review and security risk assessment of a residential complex under their management. The objective of this engagement was to assess the facility’s physical security arrangements and to ensure alignment with best practice principles applicable to multi-residential environments.
As part of the engagement, Connley Walker Pty Ltd conducted an on-site inspection of the complex to review key elements of the physical security infrastructure. This included an assessment of perimeter boundaries, building entry points, common areas, car park access, and internal circulation pathways.
The site inspection was complemented by stakeholder consultations with property management representatives and on-site personnel to understand operational routines, access protocols, security procedures, and resident expectations. These discussions ensured that the review accurately reflected the functional and security needs of the facility.
Connley Walker Pty Ltd applied a structured security risk assessment methodology consistent with AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018. This framework guided the identification and evaluation of security risks associated with the layout and operation of the complex, particularly in relation to access control, resident safety, and asset protection.
In addition, a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessment was incorporated into the engagement. This element focused on environmental factors influencing natural surveillance, access control, and territorial reinforcement within and around the complex.
A formal report was developed outlining the scope and methodology of the assessment. The report was designed to assist Anderson & Associates in planning and prioritising any future security improvements, while also supporting ongoing risk management practices at the site.
