In fulfillment of the designated scope of services, Connley Walker conducted an independent security risk assessment and review of Medisurge, Mulgrave. Aligning with the Australian Standard for Risk Management AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018, the assessment incorporated considerations of the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations 2017 and the Australian Code of Good Wholesaling Practice for medicines.

Consultation and Physical Site Inspection:
Our initiative commenced with a detailed consultation, facilitating a profound understanding of the prevailing security landscape and potential challenges. A meticulous on-site inspection ensued, evaluating the efficacy of existing security measures. This encompassed a comprehensive analysis of physical security hardware, electronic security systems (including CCTV, Electronic access control, Intruder alarms), and security processes such as key management, visitor protocols, and staff access management.
Review of Documentation:
An exhaustive review of security documentation and site plans complemented our on-site inspection. This dual-pronged approach ensured a holistic evaluation of the security infrastructure. The assessment extended to scrutinising physical security elements, electronic systems, and procedural frameworks, providing a nuanced perspective on the overall security posture.
Security Risk Assessment:
In adherence to the Australian Standard for Risk Management AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018, a thorough security risk assessment unfolded. This phase involved a meticulous identification of potential risks emanating from criminal threats, covering crimes against individuals, property, and other relevant categories. A nuanced risk analysis was then conducted, considering existing risk controls in determining consequences, leading to the formulation of judicious recommendations.
Recommendations and Documented Report:
Cost-effective security risk mitigation measures were thoughtfully recommended, tailored to address identified threats effectively. These measures were meticulously designed to align with the unique security challenges presented by Medisurge. The culmination of our efforts materialised in a detailed and documented report. This report encapsulated all findings, comprehensive recommendations, and an assessment of the immediate storage facility, ensuring compliance with Medicines and Poisons Regulation and the stipulations of the Regulatory, Risk, Integrity, and Legal Division of the Department of Health.
