In our engagement with Red Cross NSW, Connley Walker conducted a comprehensive site survey of their facility at 17 O’Riordan Street in Alexandria. The primary objective was to enhance their existing CCTV surveillance infrastructure, addressing specific needs and ensuring optimal security coverage. The project encompassed a detailed evaluation, recommendations, and an upgraded design for their CCTV system.
Connley Walker provided the following security consulting services:
Evaluation of Current CCTV Surveillance: Connley Walker meticulously assessed the existing CCTV surveillance system, identifying areas for improvement and gauging its overall effectiveness.
Recommendation for IP-Based Camera Selection: A crucial aspect of the project involved suggesting suitable IP-based cameras to replace and enhance the quality and coverage of the existing analogue cameras.
Calculation of Requirements: Our team calculated detailed specifications, including camera positions, types, angles of view, resolution/sensor size, frames per second (FPS), image quality, bandwidth requirements, and storage capacity.
Update of As-Built Documentation: Where applicable, Connley Walker updated the as-built documentation to align with the desired target state, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Site Inspection and Client Meeting: A comprehensive site inspection was conducted to identify the current CCTV system. During this process, Connley Walker engaged in a meeting with Red Cross NSW to better understand their specific requirements and expectations.
Provision of Inspection Report: A detailed inspection report was presented to Red Cross NSW, outlining recommended improvements to the CCTV system and proposing IP-based camera selections. The report also included calculations for system requirements, such as camera positions, types, angles of view, resolution, FPS, quality, bandwidth, and storage.
Detailed Design: The Detailed Design phase involved providing Red Cross NSW with a comprehensive specification for the CCTV upgrade. This included detailed CCTV requirements presented in AutoCAD format on architectural plans supplied to us. Additionally, this phase involved updating the as-built documentation to align with the desired target state. Cost estimates for the proposed works were also provided during this stage.
In conclusion, Connley Walker successfully executed the project, enhancing Red Cross NSW’s security infrastructure through a strategic and well-informed upgrade of their CCTV system. The recommendations provided aimed at not only improving current surveillance capabilities but also ensuring future-proofing and scalability in line with industry standards.
