In response to the imperative need for enhanced security measures, Connley Walker was engaged by the Tasmania Department of Education to conduct a comprehensive security assessment at Clarence District High School. This initiative aimed to evaluate the current security environment, address potential issues, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies. The multifaceted approach encompassed initial consultation, site inspection, security risk assessment, and optional post-assessment consultation. The deliverables, including draft and final documentation, were tailored based on the client’s feedback, ensuring a thorough and customised enhancement of security measures.
Connley Walker provided the following security consulting services:
Commencing with a collaborative approach, Connley Walker initiated consultations with the Tasmania Department of Education to identify the existing security landscape and potential challenges. Information regarding security policies and procedures, security suppliers, incident history, and site-specific threats, including the release of William Henry Richardson, was sought during this phase. This insightful consultation set the foundation for a targeted and customised security assessment.
A comprehensive site inspection was conducted at Clarence District High School to assess the effectiveness of current security measures. This examination encompassed physical security hardware and architecture, electronic security and communications, and security processes. The focus areas included access points, contractor/visitor control, alarms, monitoring systems, communications, lighting, vegetation, traffic flow, outer extremity access, fencing, and broader campus interoperability. The site inspection aimed to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement in the security infrastructure.
Aligned with the Australian Standard for Risk Management AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018, Connley Walker performed a meticulous security risk assessment. This included the identification of security risks stemming from criminal threats, analysis of the identified risks, and consideration of current risk controls. The subsequent recommendations encompassed cost-effective security risk mitigation measures, prioritised security upgrades, and a detailed program of works. The focus remained on addressing identified threats and fortifying the overall security posture of Clarence District High School.
The comprehensive services provided by Connley Walker included the delivery of draft and final documentation. The final documentation was tailored based on the client’s feedback on the draft, ensuring that the outcomes align with the specific needs and preferences of the Tasmania Department of Education. This collaborative effort aimed to fortify the security framework at Clarence District High School and exemplified Connley Walker’s commitment to delivering customised and effective security solutions.
