Previous Projects - Connley Walker Security Consulting Services: Tasmania Department of Health

In response to the imperative need for enhanced security measures, Connley Walker was commissioned to conduct a comprehensive building and staff security risk assessment across all Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) facilities for the Tasmania Department of Health. This strategic engagement aimed to evaluate and address potential vulnerabilities within the mental health facilities. The deliverables included a detailed report, policy development, creation of a standardised security audit tool, and documentation of an asset register for all security technology across the 59 inspected sites. This initiative reflected our commitment to fortifying security frameworks and ensuring the safety of both infrastructure and personnel within mental health facilities.

Connley Walker provided the following security consulting services:

Building and Staff Security Risk Assessment:

Connley Walker executed a thorough building and staff security risk assessment of SMHS facilities, meticulously identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities. The resulting report encapsulated a detailed analysis of building and staff security risks at each facility. Comprehensive risk mitigation recommendations were provided, ensuring a strategic approach to address and alleviate the identified security concerns. The assessment process adhered to British/Australian spelling conventions and focused on aligning with relevant standards and guidelines.

Statewide Policy Development:

Following the risk assessment, Connley Walker actively contributed to the development of a statewide policy tailored to address building and staff security in mental health facilities. This strategic document served as a guiding framework to establish standardised security protocols, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive approach to security measures across all SMHS facilities.

Security Audit Tool Creation:

Recognising the importance of standardised security practices, Connley Walker designed a versatile security audit tool aligned with the relevant Australian Standards and Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG). This tool was meticulously crafted to be applicable across all Departmental healthcare facilities, providing a systematic approach to security assessments that adheres to industry best practices.

Asset Register Documentation:

In conjunction with the security risk assessment, Connley Walker documented a comprehensive asset register for all security technology deployed across the 59 inspected sites. This register served as a centralised repository of crucial information, facilitating efficient management and oversight of security infrastructure within the mental health facilities.

This collaborative effort with the Tasmania Department of Health showcased Connley Walker’s dedication to elevating security standards within mental health facilities. The deliverables, including the detailed risk assessment, policy development, creation of a standardised security audit tool, and documentation of an asset register, collectively fortified the security posture of Statewide Mental Health Services.
